Apple drops iPhone 1.1.1 update, warns unlocked phones may not work

Abstract

Apple released the first substantial update to the iPhone's software Thursday and warned customers who have modified their iPhone software may find the update "results in your iPhone becoming permanently inoperable". Sources say updates to iWork '08 are set to arrive soon, as well.
