Here at the
Best Week Ever offices, hundreds if not thousands of worker bees are tucked away in their cubicles, watching every square inch of television in order to make certain that no geniously funny clip goes unchecked. After each network show, a report is sent out by one of our many employees. Usually, these reports cover mostly the mundane: "
Fergie doing cartwheels on the
Today Show" or "
Ellen Degeneres feels up
Mario Lopez's thighs". Typical.
But this morning,
Best Week Ever Associate Producer
Lauren Gurganous outdid herself with her minutely detailed report of today's
Mike and Juliet Show, the
Pet Star Search Finale. Never has a Pet Star Search been dealt with so seriously... or delicately. We are pleased to bring you said report now, in its entirety:
"
Subject: TV Report: Mike and Juliet
Juliet and Mike were all dressed up today. Seriously, like a black sequinny dress and tux respectively. The reason they gave? Oh, just the
PET STAR SEARCH FINALE!
At first I was a bit concerned because I had seen all of the finalists before, and though all three are pretty cute, I wasn't convinced the right pets had been voted in as finalists in the first place. Fortunately, this time around, the pets were back with some new tricks.

You may remember
Jilli, the poker playing dog. She did a lame card trick that was really more her owner's trick anyway. This dog really only throws cards around. She rightfully later comes in 3rd place.
Next, the
parakeet who plays sports. The bird basically did the same junk that it did last time (plays golf, bowls, plays basketball), though it did incorporate some new roll-over maneuvers into its repertoire. Just "eh" for the most part, though. The bird comes in 2nd. Again, a good judgment.

Lastly,
Mudslinger the Pig was up. Last time, Mudslinger bowed on command and packed himself away into a suitcase. I was underwhelmed. But this time around, the pig came to play. It put the flag down on a tiny mailbox and retrieved the mail inside, then golfed, simultaneously doing some comedy by moving to the golf hole to the ball instead of the other way around (hilarious), AND then dribbled a ball around cones before putting the ball in a soccer net! Are you kidding me?! The pig, to no one's surprise, takes 1st place and a giant $5000 check.
I'm more than a little bummed the competition is over. The next BWE should probably have a pet tricks segment. Perhaps I'll send in a formal pitch."
Sometimes, words speak louder than video clips. With thanks to Lauren for permission to post!
