Deadline is reporting that Oliver Stone has signed a deal to direct a big screen adaptation of Don Winslow's drug cartel thriller Savages, which the director hopes to helm after Wall Street 2.
The 320-page novel will be published by Simon & Schuster in July (available for preorder on Amazon for $16.50). The book tells the story of "young, independent Laguna Beach-based marijuana kingpins are blackmailed into working for the Baja Cartel after one of their threesome is kidnapped." The group now owes every cent they've made for the last five years, and while rhey agree to pay, they end up hatching "an alternate plan to get her back, get revenge, and then get lost."
