Hare today, diagnosed with rabies and put to sleep tomorrow.

Stranded in nature's pantry with the world's dumbest person.
Being shipwrecked is no picnic... unless you're shipwrecked on an island with the richest sea life and most bountiful forests on earth, in which case you'll be dining outdoors on fresh abalone, oysters, crabs, coconuts, vegetables, wild herbs and maybe even the occasional bit of sashimi. Very much like the kind of picnic you'd dream of at home, if you were rich enough to afford your own private chef.

Authentic right down to the printed circuitboard.
Japan Import: Three words: Track & Field. The pat-pat-pat of pixelated feet, the tyres-on-gravel 'roar' of the crowd, the throaty rasp of that robotic ladyvoice ("The time: eleven point sheroshero shecondsh")... there's something quite magical about this rarely-rereleased seaside arcade mainstay blurping and bleeping from the DS screen.

But the real first mission was on SNES twelve years ago.
For anyone getting disheartened with the slew of impenetrable Japanese language RPGs and action adventures, whose insurmountable and squiggly language barriers have you weeping katakana tears of frustration, fear not. While you'll be scrolling through some screens of kanji dialogue between the stern-faced early-'90s action-style heroes of Front Mission 1st, every single drop-down menu command is written in English. Finally - an import game that's actually importer-friendly.

All hail the return of the bonkers buttock-baring brat. No really, all hail...
Japan Import: Having played the truly dire Crayon Shin-Chan on Wii, it was with a heavy heart that we faced the tumour-faced sprog once more, his hands on his belt preparing to waggle his arse in our face again. But waggle he may; with this superior DS outing he's earned the right.

A game about pinball. And lacy pantaloons.
Life lesson #274: this reviewer reckons that anyone who says virtual pinball is fun is either a) lying, or b) the developer of a virtual pinball game. Virtual pinball is not fun. It's bland, it laughs at you, and it takes your hard-earned cash and making a break for the exit.

Get your thesaurus out for Wordsnake, on the way from Alten8 - first screens.
Although we don't condone the use of the number '8' in words to replace 'ate' (it's a tired phonetic trick), we are in favour of more puzzle action on DS, and that's exactly what publishers Alten8 have lined up.

Feature: Please God, no...
Last week we were a bit glum due to the lack of releases but at least we could look forward to God of War II, scheduled for release on April 13. But you guessed it; it's now been put back, this time to April 27. Sony says it was always this day but Play's been listing as April 13, until recently.
