Vgtilt.com posted 27th October 08
"I don't like dealing in rumors and we've seen a lot of those types of people come and go now Surfer Girl, Games Blow, Skater Boy and a host of others. But I have word from a pretty damn good source that Uncharted 2 is set to make a playable appearance at GDC 09' coming up and will be officially unveiled by a major publication in December. Also, word has it from ol' buddy that at the VGA's the game will have a new teaser trailer for the game leading inward.
Set in the Snowy Mountains of a yet to be disclosed area, he said Uncharted 2 is going to be 50% uncharted, 25% Cliff Hanger and 25% Metal Gear Solid 4. He's seen it in action and it looks brilliant.
Again, nothing more than that... but it sounds logical. Ol' buddy said it won't be the only game Naughtydog shows off next year, either. Jak perhaps? "
Arne Meyer of Naughty Dog writes: "I have a distinct feeling that many of you might have been expecting that this day would be coming real soon … Today, we're beginning to reveal more about our next project here at Naughty Dog – Uncharted 2: Among Thieves."

Japan - The seismic effects of market shifts and economic gloom in combination with a rather short release list have made a significant impact for Square Enix. In 2007, twenty-two releases spread across five systems (DS, PSP, PS2, Wii, 360) added up to a shockingly huge 6.4 million units sold.
In contrast, Square Enix's 2008 effort of ten releases across four systems (DS, PSP, Wii, 360) resulted in a far lesser 1.7 million units sold.* This is a 4.5 million unit difference and is a eye-popping 73.81% decline from 2007.

GameXtract writes "There are a whole lot of Killzone 2 videos on the Internet, but most of them are either shown through crappy quality or are from bigger sites like GT where the gamer playing the game just sucks. Now that Youtube has offered their new 16:9 widescreen addition, users are now able to upload videos that simply look just so much better. Today below we have a wide range of new videos off Youtube that show Killzone 2 in a higher quality format that we all love. Best part is that we have modified the videos to show in high quality in this blog along with the widescreen format so you don't need to leave the site at all! Videos after the jump!"
Ever since Sonic Adventure 2 on the Sega Dreamcast the hedgehog has suffered some pretty poor releases. Sonic fans have been hurting for a long time now with titles like "Sonic Riders" and more recently "Sonic The Hedgehog". What little good will gamers had left for the blue blur is quickly evaporating thanks to Sonic Unleashed, an otherwise decent Sonic game ruined by brawling levels that turn Sonic into a werehog combatant. So why exactly do the development team keep screwing things up exactly? David Clayman caught up with a member of the development team on Sonic Unleashed and asked them exactly this.

Assuming that the content from publishers keeps growing into an expansive list of things to see and do, Home could honestly top Xbox Live. In a year or two we could be seeing Microsoft and Nintendo jumping on the bandwagon. Home really could be the next step in Social Networking, a living breathing world to shop, mingle with friends and play games. As long as the content is there, Home will become the next big craze.
Homicide from Neocrisis writes: Resistance 2 is the sequel to the well received PS3 launch title Resistance: Fall of Man. The game was announced in February 2008 with its online features such as the 8 player co-op and 60 multiplayer that kept us hooked wondering how it'll be pulled off. Throughout the year before Resistance's 2 release, Insomniac kept releasing new info and trailers that really showed Resistance 2 was going to be a huge improvement over the first. Is Nathan Hale's latest mission successful?
The new Prince of Persia is a departure from the previous games in the series, the design philosophy has changed and he shares the story with a rather attractive female companion. Is this enough to freshen up this platform hopping franchise however?

Torrence Davis of The Bitbag writes, "On this episode we discuss what Blu-Ray really is, a storage medium. We talk about how many feel that graphics are better because of Blu-Ray when in fact graphics are better because of the hardware, not the medium that the data is stored on. Also on this episode:
- Hiphopgamer argues back and forth with a listener who says, "Home is a virtual doll house"
- Weapon X has some details on the PS4 possibly being released in 2010
- Torrence strikes back at some readers who accuse him of being a fanboy because of his response to the Kikizo interview with Square-Enix

Yes, the PC is hugely upgradeable - and a bloody good job, too, otherwise you'd never get to play all those games built with cutting edge technology by crazy Scandinavian ex-demo hackers. And anyway, a console is upgradeable: when the next Xbox or PlayStation comes out, we sell the old one and buy a new one. Easy.
And 11 more reasons the PC is an inferior choice for games...

Today I've received news on a new rumour, this time about Resistance 3, yes you heard me right, RESISTANCE 3. I know that Resistance 2 has just been released in UK/Europe today and this may seem premature, but this news comes from the same person who gave me the rumour on the MGS4 Expansion Pack, which became a hot topic of discussion....

Gamer.Blorge:
"It feels as though I've been writing about Playstation Home for years. I haven't, it's only been months in reality, but with its release being delayed constantly, known and unknown development issues, and questions still remaining, it feels like the service has been a long time coming. Which makes any official word from Sony very interesting indeed.
I can understand the delays, although I'm not happy with them. Home is, after all, something new and as yet untried in the gaming community. But it can't be good that the beat looks set to continue for well, forever by the looks of it. Could it be that Home is set to be like so many other Internet services and remain in beta forever, constantly being tinkered with?
I'm actually looking forward to Playstation Home immensely, having lost my early pessimism over how good it could or would be. But to say everybody's becoming a little bit impatient is the understatement of the year. Just release it already and let us see why it has taken so long to develop."
"Soul Breed" strategy/embarrassing food eating RPG Record of Agarest War first hit the PS3 last fall. Now, it's got the inevitable Xbox 360 version. There are differences, it seems, big differences.
Back in March this year, Kotaku wrote an article about a rumored store PlayStation Store revamp with the helpful addition of a video store. Their sources mentioned that the new interface would closely resemble that of the Singstore in Singstar. They even made their own mockup of what the new PlayStation Video Store could look like, as seen above. So how and why did this image make itself into the "Are you ready for PlayStation Network on PlayStation.com?" newsletter SCEA?

Play-Mag:
"I read about a dozen online guides before I tried to swap out my PS3 hard drive, this week. Each one claimed that it was easy – great, I thought! Still, an element of doubt struck me when I glanced at the comments thread of these walkthroughs, as everyone seemed to have a problem with the blue screw that locks the hard drive in. This little bastard is troublesome for two reasons: firstly, it's wound up tighter than the titanium bolts in Fort Knox. Secondly, it's basically made out of a material with the same density as water.
You practically get three attempts to screw it off, before it's stripped altogether. Then you're completely buggered – game over. A horrible, but anecdote-friendly irony, considering it's a videogames console we're dealing with."
Greg Howson writes:
"Am I the only one a little surprised to see that the Tomb Raider Underworld is selling better on PS3 than 360? Yes, you could argue that 360 owners have simply too many games available at the moment - including exclusives like Gears of War 2 and Fable 2 – and that Lara has to join the queue. Plus 360 owners do – as a stereotype – prefer their shooters to their platform puzzle games. But PS3 owners have got exclusives like LittleBigPlanet and Resistance 2, as well as access to most of same third party games that 360 owners have. So why has Lara proved more popular to PS3 owners than 360?"
