Today Nintendo released first-quarter results for its current fiscal year, and the numbers are even bigger thanks to the success of the Wii. For the three months ended June 30, 2007, Nintendo reported revenues of 340.4 billion yen ($2.8 billion), an increase of more than 160 percent over the prior year’s first-quarter tally of 130.9 [...]

Below is the official press release.
New York, NY - July 19, 2007 - Rockstar Games is proud to announce that Bully: Scholarship Edition is coming to the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the Wii™ home video game system from Nintendo this Winter.
Amazing! The Wii has hit 3 million units sold in Japan. Not much to comment on, but it’s great news for Nintendo.
I’ve never been a fan of the PS3 but I at least respected what Sony was doing but as time goes on they just keep attacking the Wii and 360 in a very childish manner instead of facing their problems and making their own system better. The attacks would at least have a solid base [...]
It has arrived late, but the Wii version of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon is still fun and still a very deep fighter. The new gesture based controls seem like a bad idea, and yet in practice they feel responsive and satisfying to perform… most of the time. Very occasionally, your movements won’t be recognized, which is [...]
Looks amazing for a Wii title.
Good to see some content going up on SmashBros.com
Two character profiles (Mario & Link) have been added, with some new images of them.

The Bigs is one of my most anticipated games, as I am looking forward to playin’ some ball via the online multiplayer, and a baseball game is perfect for the Wii Remote. Luckily, IGN have praised the game, although there are some minor issues. You can also check out some new Wii screens at the [...]
Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 is definitely on the way, and here is a scan showing off a bit of the game.
“I could make Halo,” Miyamoto says. “It’s not that I couldn’t design that game. It’s just that I choose not to. One thing about my game design is that I never try to look for what people want and then try to make that game design. I always try to create new experiences that are [...]
I’ve been known to not like RPGs very much, so it was a bit surprising when I received Paper Mario for the 64 for Christmas one year, and it instantaneously became a favorite. Imagine my excitement, then, when Nintendo decided to take one of my favorite franchises, and turn it into a side-scrolling platformer (one [...]
IGN has posted an interview with the executive producer of the tentatively titled EA playground. The first line goes something like this: “Electronic Arts will later this week officially announce a brand new title for Nintendo’s next-generation console.” You might do a double-take right there. First, why talk about a game a week before you [...]
Here are the very first images of the Mario Strikers Charged online interface. It definitely uses friend codes (bummer, I know) but at least it’s online. You can also view all the new screenshots.
I must also note however, that random online matches will be a feature, so you won’t be restricted to versing just your friends.
[...]
DK Bongo Blast has been renamed Donkey Kong Jet, and here are some new screenshots for the title.

Nintendo has announced that they have 45 Wii games in development currently, (Yes, Nintendo are making 45), but there are no details on those games. Below however are all the games being released from April onwards that we know of.

Great news for RPG lovers, and a good move for Nintendo financially.
RPG fans, prepare to salivate. According to IGN, Nintendo and Namco-Bandai have worked out a deal whereby majority ownership of developer Monolift Soft will be transferred to Nintendo on May 1st. Monolift Soft is best known for the Xenosaga trilogy on the PS2 (and [...]
I was interested in Space Station Tycoon for the Wii when I first heard about it, and it’s definitely still has my interest after seeing these new screenshots. From what I can see, it may not have the prettiest graphics, but it still seems enjoyable, and I’ll love to see how well the controls work.
You [...]
In a recent interview on a German gaming site, it has been confirmed that Alone in the Dark will be coming to the Wii, although later than it will on consoles such as the 360 and PS3. The game will be released for the Wii sometime in 2008.
For the full German interview, click here.
CNN -mainstream news outlet, and most certainly not a game site- has been spotted doing a little cheer leading for the Nintendo Wii. The article in question, “How the Wii is Creaming the Competition,” appeared on CNNMoney.com today. The article tells the story of our favorite little underdog Nintendo, beginning with the NES, working [...]
Ever since the ol’ quarter eaters in the arcades, video games have been an expensive hobby. Since home consoles have taken over, game systems have almost never gone under $200 and rarely went over $300 US at launch. That being said, certain companies (ie maybe Microsoft and definitely Sony) have raised the prices a little [...]
Are you spending hours tweaking your Mii, trying to make it look right? Frustrated that, even with photo in hand, you just can’t create a likeness?
Have no fear, Make Mii is here!
So goes the opening page of miistation.com, a site that offers to make your own personal Mii for a measly $10 US! In all [...]

Wacky, wacky fun time, complete with Hello Kitty wallpaper!! The Japanese seem to love very weird, and very quirky games, and -in recent years- Americans do too. Tamagotchi, Pokemon, and Wario Ware are all proof of that. The Wii (and it’s wacky controller) may just be the perfect match to keep this franchise alive for [...]
Nintendo Wii sites everywhere lit up today at the prospect of Sonic and Mario finally starring in a game together. The game is called Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, and it revolves around “finally discovering who is faster.” If that’s too vague, than you might want to know that they will competing [...]
Line Rider is still one of my favorite flash games, and when I heard it was coming to the Wii I was so happy! What’s even better now is that inExile (the developer of the game) have stated that they’ll allow you to upload your tracks to the site which can then be shared.
Sharing tracks [...]
So I just picked up a copy of SSX Blur, and I’ll have a full review on it later, but it’s just suprisingly hard! I’d heard about the tilt sensing controls with the Nunchuck, and I thought it sounded awkward, but I never considered it’d be as weird as it actually is. All the reviews [...]
Here’s some more of those great GameCube games that you simply must play on your Wii.
Baten Kaitos
With such a good response from part one and some additional praise from my friend, I’d be crazy not to put this one at the top of the list. At the surface it’s just another RPG, and getting deeper [...]
I really didn’t expect this, but it’s true! The idea of Mii’s was initially meant for the Nintendo DS. This information has been posted on the Official Japanese Website of Nintendo, and you can see the pictures of the DS version below:
It would have been neat if they had Mii’s on the Nintendo [...]

I enjoy being the owner of Wii Gamin’, but it’s so hard to choose a design that I actually like! This is an older design that I made, but it wasn’t practical when I updated frequently. Seeing as this blog is now more of a commentary blog, with less frequent updates, I thought I’d try [...]
Codename Revolution is reporting that Sims 2: Pets is being ported to the Wii soon. It makes sense as the game was on the GameCube, so I’m assuming some control changes and other tweaks need to be made, and then EA has another game on the relatively limited shelf of alright games.
The February numbers (or at least some of them) are in. IGN has released a short article quoting recently assembled statistics from the NPD group. To those weary of these numbers, they are a well established organization that deals in all forms of sales data (feel free to Google it).
Apparently the Wii sold an [...]
All who hate friend codes say “Mii.” Well that whining might finally come to an end as GameSpy has announced that they will be providing third party Wii developers with “multiplayer technology.” It’s still a little hazy, but the service promises friend rosters, match selection, and a ranking system. Sounds like XboX Live doesn’t it?
Finally, [...]
No More Heroes is quite an anticipated game for the Wii, as it’s from the makers of Killer 7. I was excited for it, but it seems to be violent for the sake of violence, which I think is quite dumb. Either way, the trailer (with ingame footage) is below.
Many great titles are coming to the WIi this year, and here are some more details of games coming out before the end of Q2 (before July). I bolded Pokemon Battle Revolution, as that will be the first online game for the Wii, so the 25th of June is when we’ll get to test out [...]
New video of Super Paper Mario from GDC 2007.
“pure arcade fun at it’s finest”
I can still remember the music from the beginning of Excite Bike for the NES, and the course editor, and the little sound that was made when the guy scrambled back to his bike. They followed it with Excite Bike 64, and now we’re at Excite Truck. A series [...]
With Neo Geo games being officially announced, it’s now time for gamers like me to start whining about what else we want. So with no further introduction, here is a list of games, accessories, etc. I would like to see for the Wii.
Games:
1. Shock Troopers - Think top down Metal Slug. It’s a great game [...]
