I donÂ’t have the exact figures in front of me, but I would estimate five thousand teenage girls get their belly button pierced every single day as a way to piss off their father or get noticed by nineteen year old David WoodersonÂ’s. Four thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine of those rebellious teens donÂ’t get their own celebrity gossip stories about it

Sometimes I sit in my cubicle at work and stare off into space having one of my many Lottery Fantasies... one of which involves having my own adult film production company (mercifully for you, O Beloved Gasmii, I will not go into detail about it other than to say it would feature hefty men like my boyfriend and a variety of lubricating substances). However, some of my more G-rated ideas have been along the lines of owning my own dance club (called "J-Mo's Disco Heaven") or my own restuarant (called "J-Mo's Deep-Fried-Nirvana") or my own religion (called "J-Mo-ism"... our Golden Rule would be "Do Unto Others Nicely Or You'll Get A Great Big Karmic Bitchslap"). I could conceivably make a decent go at any of these businesses because I have experience that would prepare me to run all of them... or maybe even a combination of
all three... a disco restaurant church... hmmmm....

...on the other hand, while I
like getting my hair colored and cut, I think I'd probably make a hysterically terrible hair salon owner, cuz I'd have no flippin' clue what I was doing whatsoever. On tonight's episode of
Salon Takeover With Tabatha, we meet a woman who stupidly forged ahead with this exact Lottery Fantasy anyhow (minus the much-needed Lottery Win as a backup cushion) and she nearly inspires Tabatha Coffey to violence! Let's make some popcorn, have some cheap wine and watch the bitchslapping together after the jump...
Windows? Linux? Mac OS? One day it won't matter.

Only a few companies can afford to spend millions of dollars on researching and developing new technologies for their product lines, but that doesn't necessarily exclude smaller businesses from getting their hands on cutting-edge innovation. Each year, thousands of discoveries are made at universities, and many of them are left on the shelf because they can't find a suitor to take them to market.

(S05E03) The three-part premiere week finally reached its conclusion, and one star was sent packing. Tom's introduction really played up the battle of the sexes angle, calling Week 1 a "dance duel." Drew returned as Tom's co-pilot, and I'm curious to see how long he'll stick around. As usual, there was a tidy summary of the previous night of performances. The men answered the call after Len's warning on Monday night. Like Jennie Garth, Cameron set the standard with his Foxtrot. In his post-performance interview, Cameron was very proud of all the work he did.

Not together, sadly

In a move roughly as unsurprising as RZA soundtracking a samurai cartoon, Ghostface Killah-- whose persona primarily centers around Marvel Comics characters-- is heading out on a tour sponsored by a TV channel that only plays cartoons. Adult Swim is sending Ghostface on a trek to several college campuses this October, and all of the shows are free.
Ghostface will be joined on the trek by long-lost Dungeon Family member Witchdoctor, whose album Diary of an American Witchdoctor drops October 23 on Adult Swim's Williams Street label. Love them tie-ins!
We'd imagine an ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead cartoon to resemble that 300 movie, or any number of bloody animes. Or, I guess, "Metalocalypse", the Adult Swim program with which the terrifying Texans are now intertwined. Like Ghostface, Trail of Dead will go forth on an Adult Swim-sponsored college trek of their own, supported by Dethklok, the fourth-wall-eradicating metal band from "Metalocalypse". Dethklok will issue Metalocalypse: Dethklok The Dethalbum, their "debut" album, on Williams Street on September 25. Their joint tour will kick off October 29, though dates for that leg have yet to be announced.
To clarify: There will be no Ghostface/Trail of Dead dates, much as you might want that. Ghostface also has a whole bunch of non-Adult Swim, non-college, non-free shows scheduled throughout the fall.
Oh, and while we're on the subject of collaborations, in the press release for this thing, there's mention of the time that Ghost and Adult Swim fave MF Doom came together for a "not-yet-released album". Which reminds us: Anybody know when that album's gonna come out? Because, you know, it sounds like it might be pretty good. Though perhaps not as good as this. [MORE...]

RealNetworks once again makes makes feed withdrawals an unnecessary trauma in my life! Once the feeds end, they're going to start them up all over again just like they did last year. Rerun feeds, what a marvel of modern technology, eh?
Okay. You caught me. I'm being sarcastic. I will technically keep the feeds because I use the music download credit each month. But, no. I won't be rewatching the BB8 season.
There hasn't been a heck of a lot happening in the house with just the final two there, but jury questioning is coming soon. I'll give you the lowdown after the jump. At this time, very mild show spoilers ahead.

(S05E02) "No indies E! Think of it like the Holocaust - never again!" - Ari
Ever since the beginning of Entourage, I've been waiting for this episode. As much as I love Vince, it's been a long time coming for his "I'll do whatever the hell I want" mentality to finally come full circle and bite him in the ass. His career is in the toilet, Ari even admitted that his worth as an actor "remains to be seen," and E is officially taking his own career more seriously. If Vince wants a comeback, then it's going to be up to him and I love that it's been set up that way. Up until now, his failures have been a direct result partly because of his reliance on Eric and partly because of his own laissez-faire, "what will be will be" attitude. If he screws it all up now, it's his own fault.

Details are thin at the moment, but the free unlock appears to have been achieved by the usual suspects according to some of their claims on IRC channels. Apparently some hackers are exploiting the same buffer bug that the iPhone Sim Free people used to achieve their unlocks, but it is their own independent free unlock. Keep checking back for updates after the jump. And remember, no Death Star exploding until it gets fully confirmed and running in our iPhones. [Last update 6:49PM EST]
[Updated 6:35PM EST]
So far, we know that GeoHot, of the hardware unlock fame, is claiming in IRC channels that he has unlocked the iPhone using the same method as iPhone Sim Free. This method, apparently, was suggested by Gray to GeoHot. Ironically, Gray is also the russian hacker who, on top of the tools and work already done by the rest of the Dev Team, gave GeoHot most of the necessary knowledge and analysis necessary to perform the hardware unlock he got famous for.
[Updated 6:47PM EST]
At this time, GeoHot hasn't made public any details yet. Meanwhile, hackers from the iPhone Dev Team keep testing the way that Gray suggested. Be aware that it's still not clear if GeoHot's claims are true or not. Unless his claims are independently tested by the community, and the unlock proven to be his work —which hasn't been proved either— the Death Star won't explode.
[Updated 6:49PM EST]
While all this is happening, another Dev Team group is currently testing another unlock software right now, which is also "similar to IPSF but works with patching a fls, not some strange bootloader code."

August NPD, which covers the four weeks of August 5 to September 1 for the USA (and Canada), will be released September 13th (September 12th for Canada) at approximately 6:30 PM EST.

Final Fantasy XIII (FFXIII) is currently a PS3 exclusive, but Square Enix's Hiromichi Tanaka said in his keynote address at the Austin Game Developers Conference (GDC) that the game is being developed with a "cross-platform" engine:
"Development is proceeding smoothly now, with the framework now beginning to take shape. Last year we went through a development reorganization, with the development of our own cross-platform middleware ? the White Engine. This is the foundation for FFXIII and the new MMO."
Up until then, the White Engine had always been referenced as PS3-specific. However, Takana's keynote does not mean we should jump to the conclusion that FFXIII will appear on more platforms. Consider this: Gears of War and BioShock were built on a "cross-platform" engine, (Unreal Engine 3,) does that mean both titles will appear on additional platforms? It does mean that platforms other than the PS3 will possibly benefit from future Square Enix products based on the White Engine.
In addition to FXIII and the new MMO, Takana's keynote also covers real money trading (RMT), its problems and lessons, and Wings of the Goddess (Final Fantasy XI expansion.) Read the full article for details.

It's here, and it's fabulous. But it's not perfect! No, sir, the "PSP-2000" has a few design blemishes that interfere with an otherwise excellent handheld system.
GamePro has ranked the issues by priority. Here is the list, see the article for the details.
1. Sticky directional pad
2. New UMD slot
3. Too many separate outputs and inputs
4. Plastic bezel
