As part of the final Hollywood & Games Summit panel in Los Angeles, LucasArts' Jim Ward has been discussing the oft-raised question of a lightsaber game for Nintendo's Wii, saying that the company has internal prototypes running using the Wiimote.
He added that the whole concept of a title using a lightsaber of Nintendo Wii was "...in place! There?ll be some stuff out this Fall - it?s going to be a lot of fun."
It's unclear whether Ward could have been referring to the TT Games-developed Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, which will debut later this year on multiple formats including the Wii, or whether the company is planning further, as yet unannounced Wii-specific Star Wars games.
“I don’t know who I am!” wails a banged up and bloody James McAvoy somewhere in the first third of the new super-slick action flick Wanted. And while that existential admission—identity, the quest for self—may be the heart of this futuristic assassin tale, it’s certainly not the film’s soul. That, as it turns out, belongs entirely to flashy special effects and crunchy sequences of violence. Did somebody order another comic book movie?
We can’t tell whether Wanted wants to have a message, a purpose above high-octane explosions and highly implausible mayhem, or if it really just aims to make the viewer say, “Wow!” The former is something it seems to attempt and then abandon; meanwhile, the latter it drives home with steely resolve. At the center of it all is good old Mr. McAvoy, last seen pining over Keira Knightley in 2007’s sensual epic Atonement. Here, he pulls a clever career 360 to inhabit Wesley Gibson, a nobody office drone with an anxiety problem, an overbearing boss, a

As you know, helium (He on the periodic table of the elements) has many fine uses, such as: filling up your birthday balloons, making your voice higher, and creating totally pristine treble on your $4200 Plasmatronics speakers (available right now on eBay). Sure, you could just keep on using the stuff for celebrations or hilarious gags, but wouldn't it be more of a

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high,
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly.
Birds fly over the rainbow.
Why then, oh why can't I?
If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?

It took
90210 over 10 years to get a spin-off, but
Gossip Girl gets one after one season. They want to give co-star Taylor Momsen her own series or they may introduce a new character next season for the spin-off...it's all up in the air right now, but they do know they want to set the series at a girls boarding school and they want to use the arc of Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen's character) based on the book series,
The It Girl for the spin-off.
If the series does go, it doesn't mean it will be on the CW, but they do have right of first refusal on any
Gossip Girl series...AND, I'm sure the CW wouldn't let a spin-off go on another network when their own is struggling. Then again, this is all hear-say...so nothing has been set in stone.
I've been dying to read
The It Girl and haven't had the time, has anyone read it...think the spin-off is a good idea?

David Archuleta said "American Idol" champ David Cook "deserved" to win the competition.
The Brainy Gamer reports:
''I mentioned in my last post that I've been spending a lot of time playing Wii games lately. Among the mostly forgettable spate of recent releases (Deca Sports, Emergency Mayhem, Iron Man), games like LostWinds and Boom Blox have delivered far more delights than I expected. And, of course, Wii Fit arrives tomorrow, hotly anticipated by family and friends.
Normally I don't give much thought to review scores, but I'm often curious to see how reviewers write about games that veer off the path of the tried and true - or even stretch the very definition of "game." I've been struck, in this regard, by the relatively low scores and lukewarm reviews that Gamespot has assigned to recent Wii games. I'm not suggesting a conspiracy, nor do I think Gamespot hates Nintendo or any other such silliness. But I do find the rather stark discrepancies interesting, and I wonder what they mean, if anything.''

Oscar winner Paul Haggis, who rewrote Casino Royale, has been tapped by EON Prods. to rewrite Bond 22 from an original screenplay by series veterans Neal Purvis and Robert Wade. The Los Angeles Times claims that, given Haggis' busy slate of projects, "the Bond producers must have dangled, shall we say, very seductive creative and financial incentives for him to return to the Bond juggernaut." Haggis will presumably work on Bond 22 while he also works on the post-production of his next directing effort, In the Valley of Elah, or once he completes that. The paper also says Haggis has already passed on directing Bond 22. The Times adds that Ted Griffin (Ocean's Eleven) had been attached to script Bond 22 back when Roger Michell was in talks to direct. Perhaps once Michell passed on helming the film so went Griffin as well. Bond 22 begins filming in early 2008 for a Nov. 7, 2008 release
