Rich told you a year ago about ABC's new anthology series Masters of Science Fiction. It starts on Saturday, August 4 at 8pm. This is great news. We need an anthology series like this, even if it's just a series of specials and not a permanent weekly show.
There will be four episodes altogether, at least for this first go around. I'm sure ABC will make more if there's an audience for it. There are some great names involved, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Keith will be reviewing the show starting August 4. Full schedule and details after the jump.

(InfoWorld) - India's third largest outsourcer, Wipro, Thursday reported growth in revenue and profit, although like other Indian outsourcers, it too was affected by the?appreciation of the Indian rupee?against the U.S. dollar.
The company posted total revenue of Indian rupees 41.83 billion ($1.03 billion) in the quarter ended June 30, up 34 percent over revenue in the same period last year. Net revenue was rupees 7.1 billion, up by 16 percent for the same period a year ago.
Wipro, of Bangalore, has both a domestic and export business. Its export-oriented outsourcing business, called Global IT Services and Products, posted revenue of rupees 29.4 billion, up by 20 percent over the same period last year. The company's operating margin for this business was however down from the same quarter last year because of the strong rupee.
The results are based on U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), the company said.
The company's export business had 72,137 employees as of June 30, which included 53,073 employees in its IT services and products business, and 19,064 employees in the BPO (business process outsourcing) services business. The company added 4,319 staff during the quarter of which 2,719 employees were added in its IT services and products business and 1,600 employees in its BPO business.
During the quarter, some of the company's services lines like technology infrastructure services and software package implementation grew by over 50 percent year-on-year, while its BPO and testing services grew by over 40 percent year-on-year.
The company's export business accounted for 70 percent of total revenue and 91 percent of operating income for the quarter. Wipro does not report profits separately for this business, which added 39 new outsourcing clients in the quarter.
James Brady is not easily shocked, but in his recent Forbes column, he admitted to surprise about the subject of George Steinbrenner's alleged senility.
A friend tells me The New Yorker's recent Howard Rubenstein profile had alluded to the PR man's utterances on behalf of a fading Steinbrenner, but I must have missed the deeper significance. Steinbrenner's "dementia" truly came as a shocker. There's a pretty obvious joke to be made here about Brady's own senility, but we're feeling semi-charitable this morning, so we'll skip it. Anyway, this isn't exactly news. Finally, if you're scoring at home, the most significant name Jim drops in this column is Elaine Kaufman. Dude's slipping.

Video software developer Gotuit Media has sued Microsoft, claiming that its Silverlight multimedia software infringes several of the company's patents.
Here's the National Aquatics Center in Beijing, which is now almost finished. Although the bubbles in this gigantic Water Cube look like they are made of jelly fishes, they really use "two layers of a high-performance plastic film called ethylene tetrafluoroethylene or ETFE." Mmmmmm'kay. So really, what do the jelly fish do?

The computer-generated double-layer design leaves an empty space in the middle of each bubble, which is used to warm or cool the building with a very ingenious method: the compressors draw hot air out of the bubbles, warmed by the sun, to heat the interior of the building. When they need to cool it down, the system takes air from the ground floor and out of the building, through exhaust ports on the roof (insert Death Star joke here). This kind of structure is also more resistant to earthquakes, which is a plus in the seismic-rocking Beijing.
