Moderators:
There's nothing awful about Iron Man for DS, but there isn't really anything that spectacular about it, either. Shmup fans already know they can get great, stylish games online, so this one will probably be left to young fans of the movie.
PROS: Fun and simple basic controls, upgrades you notice, good voice over sound quality
CONS: Not much mission variety, bland graphics, just barely includes story
You can expect two new games this week for the Nintendo Virtual Console, one a puzzler for the N64 and the other is once again a beat 'em up for the NES.
Oh, Mario Kart. What have they done to you?
The Mario Kart series, in which Nintendo's famous mascot characters jump into go-karts and race each other on wacky tracks, has been one of Wired's favorite series ever since the 16-bit days. Since Nintendo has only ever released one Mario Kart game for each of its consoles, the launch of each new version is always a big event, and hasn't ever been disappointing.
Until now.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl is barely 2 months old, and we stopped playing it.
Heres why.
From the article, "Naruto has sadly succumbed to the same fate as Sailor Moon and Dragonball. It became a worldwide hit. That?s not the bad part though, the bad part is what happens after becoming a worldwide hit - the merchandising.
Companies decide that, since a series is so beloved, the franchise becomes this mystical money-tree. They have to quickly harvest as much fruit as possible before fans get smart/grow up and it all rots away.
Which often results in subpar games. Games so wretched that you wouldn?t buy them even if they were in a $5 discount bin at GameStop.
Every once in a while though, developers and publishers will get things right. A licensed property will produce a good game. Lucky for Naruto fans, this has happened quite a few times and for quite a few systems. So today Important Importables will look at some of the more successful games based on the series."
A bit of a slow down compared to last week's bonanza... Highlights this week include Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Game of the Year Edition (PS3) and Boom Blox (Nintendo Wii).

The main source of inspiration for this game was the narration, that?s to say finding the best way to create the perfect narration for this type of game. At Eden we were all addicted to the new TV series like 24, Lost, Prison Break. We thought about this and said, hey, maybe there?s a new way to tell the story in a game. The length of the game is close to 10 up to 15 hours of gameplay and narration and so it?s not the same pace as a movie which is around 2 hours. Lots of games try to copy the narrative structure of a movie, but it fits better with a length of a TV season, so we had the idea to split the game into an episodic structure.
Nintendic writes: "Publisher SEGA and developer Chunsoft are teaming up to bring the first, but surely not the last, ever port of a game from the PlayStation 3 console to Nintendo?s far-weaker Wii system. The game? A reworking of Imabikisou from last year, which shocked many by charting quite high in the Media Create Top 10 upon launch, but plummeted out of sight very quickly indeed soon afterwards."
The ESRB has updated their website and a new entry for a Wii game exists. Well it's not a Wii game, but a SNES game that you may have heard of. It's called Earthbound. Does this mean what we are all hoping for? If past indications to go by, this does mean the RPG is heading to the Wii?s Virtual Console at sometime in the future. The franchise, which apart from references in Brawl, has largly gone unnoticed despite the large fanatical fanbase.
Lastactioncowboy has released a new line of clothing featuring Nintendo characters. The line includes hoodies for $40 and underwear for $18.
