The Heffee formula has been updated to allow for consideration of how often a site is updated.

Sites updated more often are given a higher score and have more value in the Heffee database. This value transfers onto each sites articles as well.

The Heffee Toolbar is now available. The toolbar allows users to easily save pages and view the top news at Heffee without ever having to leave a page or visit the site.

We have completed our help section to better serve our users. The tutorials provided on this pages will instruct you on how to register, how to login, how to create custom feeds and folders, and how to subscribe to news feeds.

The page also features a FAQ section. It is limited at the moment, but we will fill the section with (answered) questions from our users.

A static XML feed has been added to the home page and each section of Heffee. Each XML feed updates once an hour. Static XML is currently for sections and the home page only, sub-sections XML a WIP.

Pay attention to the RSS/XML icon () for Heffee feeds.

More like a traffic exchange, sites that send traffic to Heffee each day will have a return link listed on the right side of all Heffee pages. The sites with the most traffic* for a single day will be listed higher.

Heffee does not require any custom links to get your site listed. All sites already indexed by Heffee are automatically eligible. Just send traffic to any page on Heffee and your link will be counted. If your site is not yet listed with Heffee, you can do so by using the .

Just submit your url and follow it with "/link".

ex. http://www.yoursite.com/link

Moderators will approve the site within one to three business days. Once in the Heffee database**, all incoming traffic will automatically be counted.

*Heffee has software in place to stop traffic abuse.

We may be live, but we are far from complete - let alone done with bug testing. Expect the Heffee presense to grow across the web over the next few months.

Though Heffee buttons limit your options to 'Today', 'This Week', 'This Month' and 'This Year', there are some date tricks at your disposal.

Date modifications can be used on both the front page and sections.

Program updated:

Formula 1.3 is still intact. We have changed a few "circumstances" to allow for Moderator Approval to help better article indexing. All articles that have gone under Moderator Approval will feature this image:



Each approved article will feature similar articles underneath.

Program update!

Formula 1.3 allows too much 'moderation' from the moderators. The formula will be updated over the weekend to allow moderator influence only. This will also allow all pages to be controled by the current Heffee formula instead of a moderator. Moderators will still be important for article/page selection, but their role will be more limited.

Bug Testing.

With the last few updates being installed as we speak, Heffee is currently undergoing heavy bug testing. The launch date has been pushed to March 8th to give us the ample time we need to make sure that everything is working correctly.

Current indexing formula takes advantage of a number of factors including moderator grade, quality of site, quality of article, SEO, frequency of updates and more.

These represent a majority of important factors that decide the value of an indexed article/webpage.

Remember that moderators do their best to grade newly indexed articles daily. Contact your specific moderator if you feel a specific article needs more attention (remember the article number).

Formula 2.x will take into account actions by users with emphasis on which articles are saved to favorites or wind up being included in custom feeds.
