Ubisoft's bold follow-up to its surprise 2004 hit was nothing if not controversial. Taking the reins from Crytek, new developer Ubisoft Montreal chose to abandon the story and tropic setting of the original in favor or a more ominous locale - a fictional African nation teetering on the brink of anarchy. The bold new direction earned both critical praise and detractors.
Some critics loved the open world action and politically charged story, while others felt major design gaffes kept the game from realizing its potential. Ubisoft Montreal's Clint Hocking took time out of his schedule to address these reader-generated questions.
So I've just been told that Peter Chernin did make it to Super Bowl XLII after all. (Heck, it's News Corp's Fox Sports televising it, and Phoenix is only an hour's corporate jet ride away.) And the mogul is telling Hollywood folk there that "the strike is over", according to emails coming fast and furious out of that venue.

Red Faction: Guerrilla Story Trailer. See how it all begins in this trailer!
nerdyH notes a DesktopLinux.com first look at the alpha of Intel's Moblin 2 toolkit for Linux distributors to create distributions for netbooks and other Atom-based kit. "A lot of notebooks and even netbooks these days run Windows, but also offer a minimalist Linux environment that boots in seconds. Now, with the Intel-sponsored Moblin project's alpha release of Moblin 2 Monday, it looks like insanely fast boots will become a standard feature of full-featured Linux desktops, too. Some of the quick-booting environments out there are enough to give anyone a lasting hatred of Linux. Like those free bicycles that liberal, well-intentioned municipalities release into the wild from time to time, hoping to get drivers out of their cars, fast-boot Linux is probably doing more to harm than help the cause. But pretty soon, even full-featured Linux will boot in seconds. That's because Intel's built some mighty whizzy read-ahead boot technology into Moblin 2."

Maybe it’s because I hadn’t heard anything good about CBS’s new series, Welcome to the Captain, which resulted in me lowering my expectations substantially but I really didn’t think the first episode of this new sitcom was all that bad. Sure, the premise is kind of unoriginal and the humor is a bit goofy at times but overall I think it’s a good fit to follow How I Met Your Mother (which just so happens to be one of my favorite half-hour comedies).
This is a complete overhaul of the game. Changes to AI, textures, sound, music, etc.
