Description: Wondering what in the heck a "Screaming-Penguin" is, or what is "Linux"? Most visitors here will be familiar with Linux and familiar with the TotSP concept, but this explanation is for those who are a bit bewildered or curious right now.

Screaming-Penguin.com is a site that was originally devoted to the free and open source operating system known as Linux, or GNU/Linux and to computing itself. In the days when TotSP was first founded (1997) it was a strong Linux advocacy site. Since then Linux itself has matured a great deal and been widely adopted. Thus the need for general Linux advocacy, Linux commentary and explanation of Linux itself has waned (we no longer need to explain something that is basically now ubiquitous in the computing world).
