Not that you'd want to drop this sucker in the water or anything, but Pentax calls its LX Gold camera the world's first waterproof and dust-resistant SLR. That's right, Gizmodians, this is not a digital camera, it's a nod toward those olden days when our forefathers used something that was known as "film." But Pentax did this relic up right, with shiny gold and alligator trim, celebrating the company's 60th anniversary.

Just to show that the company actually has its shit together, Pentax also trotted out its K10D, a 10.2-megapixel premium DSLR camera with a pretty cool "shake reduction system." Jump for pics of that and a few more beauty shots of this waterproof golden fossil of a camera. – Charlie White

To go along with its recent hardware survey, Valve has released stats from Half-Life 2: Episode Two . The page notes the most common achievements, as well as the deadliest places in the game. Ars Technica's Opposable Thumbs blog spells out a few of the results for us: "The median completion time hits at exactly five hours, with some noteworthy variance between four and seven hours. Average play session time logged was 27 minutes. The average number of deaths spikes significantly at two specific maps during the final two levels with an average of 11 deaths per section, as well; and looking at the topographical maps at some very specific locations on the maps as well. 73.1 percent of users playing were doing so with Direct X 9.0 SM3, and 72.6 percent played the game on medium."

Usually we're accustomed to turning over -- not receiving -- birthday cakes for others' super-special day, but Sony's PR team shipped out an unknown number of butter-cream frosting PS3 birthday cakes (with what appears to be an edible t-shirt iron-on) to press today.
